AllSportRunning provided live results for the 2001 Grandma's Marathon.
This was the inaugural year for the event utilizing any type of online
services. Registration is still based on a lottery system and until this year
results had only been available in a printable format. Yet in this year of
"new technology", Grandma's Marathon attracted over 50,000 visitors to their
online results. A very impressive number for an event with only 8,000
participants!
So how does this benefit you, the race director? Online results
are an excellent opportunity for sponsorship. Featured sponsor
logos and banner ads placed within the results page are great
ways to add value for your current sponsors or attract new sponsors. What
sponsor would not want to have 50,000+ people viewing their company logo?
In regards to this inaugural year for online services,

Participants: 8,598 combined for the Marathon, Half Marathon and 5K.

Visitor Session: 52,282 to date. Five months after the event, Grandma's
Marathon results site is still receiving multiple visitor sessions per day.
